You need to make writing everyday a habit. Everyday for 10 min. write. Do this everyday for a month. I get up early every morning and fix a pot of coffee and write. get a journal that you love and use it. Start small and everyday write. Write about what is happening in your life. Write the dreams you had last night.
When it is all said and done write the story that will not leave you alone. That begs to be wrote. You will have gone from cobwebs to steel cables.
Do you dream of writing a novel. Selling them at book signings and at book stores? Are you unsure how to start?
You've bought and read lots of books on how to write a novel and even done classes. All those books tell you to do it a different way. Which is right? It's confusing.
First let me tell you there is no right or wrong way to write a novel. I can only speak for myself and tell you what I am doing and what works for me.
I started working on my novel 14 years ago. I got sidetracked a lot. I read and bought more books and then some more books.
I was overwhelmed. Just as might be right now. I've got my process down to what works for me. I hope what I tell you will work for you too.
Remember you learn to write by writing. There is no magic bullet and no one size fits all. What works for me may not work for you. But give it a try you might be pleasantly surprised. You learn by doing. I will show you little things that have helped me along the way and the bare boned workbooks, calendars and others that have helped on my writer's journey.
